Mission Statement | From the President | Answers Team | Service Area MapMission Statement
To provide the highest level of customer and associate satisfaction while maximizing long term company value as a world class supplier of transportation services.
From the President
Upon my return from World War II, I realized there was a definite need for a flatbed carrier in Des Moines, Iowa. In 1947, I opened Mid Seven Transportation to take advantage of the sudden increase in steel and construction materials which were flooding the postwar marketplace.
Soon, we opened an office in the Chicago area. Over the years countless numbers of steel loads from Chicago land have made their way to central Iowa and beyond on a Mid Seven truck.
Our company has grown into other segments of open deck transportation. Currently a great deal of our business is involved with agricultural machinery. We haul farm machinery of all shapes and sizes to the 30 states we now serve.
At first my goal was to make a living for my wife Shirley and our two sons Jeff and Joe. Along the way Mid Seven provided a good standard of living for hundreds of past and present employees and owner operators. Family is important to me. I have always attempted to make sure everyone associated with our company was given plenty of opportunity to be home with their families. Our drivers can be home every weekend if they desire.
We are proud of all the drivers, office staff and independent operators that make Mid Seven the successful company it is today.
Thank you for visiting our website. If you have a question about our company, please call me directly.
Sincerely,
L.W. Simpson
